In 2003, the school was awarded the prestigious multi-million dollar Jacob K. Javits Grant. By 2004, programs were established at Wiggs Middle School and El Paso High School. El Paso High School graduated its first cohort in the spring of 2007. To date, graduates of the program have gone on to earn tens of thousands in scholarships and have been accepted to the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities.
